GOSH!

At long last, YDMAD is online!

I can't believe it's been a year since I was inspired to begin the little encouragement ezine known as "You Do Make A Difference." So much has gone on in that time.

For example, as I write this, the Western hemisphere has just been ravaged by hurricanes. One right after another battered the Caribbean and the United States.

Many will reach out in compassion to the victims. But far too many will say, "let someone else (especially 'the government') handle it."

People are marvelously resilient, but everyone needs help and encouragement at times. While I'm no psychologist (oh, really?), I sense that more people than ever are worried, scared, unhappy, and alone.

SO many people seem to be at the end of their rope. We seem to have forgotten that the desperation and hopelessness we felt after September 11, 2001, were soon replaced by great consideration, great caring for one another.

Much of that has now been lost.

And now we're finally online, too!

The premise to YDMAD is simple and, I hope, clear:

• no one is an island unto themselves
• no living soul fails to appreciate being appreciated
• while we cannot cure world hunger and hatred, we CAN impact the lives of others in our little corner of the world
• little things mean a lot

I want to encourage you. To give you much to think about. To get you to examine and question yourself first. To even give you ideas on how to change things for the better as you go through your day.

I offer ideas from many sources: like me ;-) and a bunch of other good folks. I amassed a library of prior editions on this site I hope you'll make use of.

Always, always -- feel free to e-mail me with topic ideas, true stories, personal anecdotes or words of wisdom. You may never know how much it can mean to someone else at just the right time and just the right circumstance.
